God Spoke to Moses [Leviticus 1]

¹Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,

²"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When any man of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock.

³'If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer it, a male without defect; he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD.

A brand new era began with the first verse of the first chapter of Leviticus as God spoke to Moses "from the tent of meeting." In Exodus, Moses had to go up on the mountain to speak to God. Just think how happy Moses was to be able to walk to the middle of the camp to the brand new and beautiful Tabernacle to hear God speak. I am sure the mountain top was quite an experience for Moses, but people can't live and thrive on those high places for long, nor are they easily accessible. Moses, most likely, was relieved to have God so much closer, not only to him, but to the people as well.

As much as I enjoy spiritual mountain tops, I am really glad God lives with me in the valley where most of my life happens. God so loved me that He gave His only Son so that He is with me no matter where I go.

We praise You, God, that because of Jesus You are so easy to find, to know and to be intimate with as we spend time in Your Word, in prayer and in fellowship with other believers. We praise You that you dwell in our hearts through Your Spirit. Cause us to grow in spending time with You, filling with Your grace and peace and love. Use us to speak and show Your love to this world that so desperately needs You.
